Take on the Brady courtroom sketch

When I saw a picture of the court room sketch of Tom Brady at his appeal hearing today i knew he was being set up. Not only is this entire DeflateGate idiotic, but this picture proves that he is being railroaded because nobody would draw him to look like a melted candle unless they were a Raven or Colt fan. I have never heard of a bigger travesty than the amount of time, money and energy that has gotten into whether Brady did or did not know his balls were deflated and I can honestly say I don't care and that is coming from a Jet fan. You don't destroy the Colts by 10000 points because of a little less PSI in your sack, you beat them by 10000 because they are a soft team who has no heart and who can't win in January.

The Patriots have had a reputation for not fumbling for as long as I can remember and it was always a credit to how well-disciplined and coached up they were. Brady and Belichick run such a tight ship and so on. Actually, it's been because of the softer balls that they've been sneaking into the games. Anyone who's ever played two hand touch with their buddies knows that a softer ball is easier to throw, catch and hold onto. Fuck Brady. His actions affected the play on the field to his advantage.

I agree with Baby Stu. Slate or some other website did an article on how the Patriots' fumble rate dropped dramatically (and well beyond the standard deviation) back in 2006 or 2007 or thereabouts when they started deflating the ball.

Deflating the ball does have an overall impact on the game. Maybe not a single blowout game against the Colts, but certainly on the team's overall season record. And that ultimately affects playoff seeding, home field advantage, and whether one makes the playoffs at all.
