Take on Fox News’ Taylor Swift take

The hatred for Taylor Swift mostly from the right has hit a fever pitch a few weeks before she blows the roof off of the new stadium in Las Vegas by showing up for Travis Kelce. The funny thing is that the FoxNewsHeads are trying to keep her from dipping her toe into the 2024 election goading her to stay out of it. All the while they have Ted Nugent and Kid Rock on regularly to spew their vile hatred.
So maybe time to pipe down and start focusing on the new Eras

take on Neuralink p

A few years ago when we first heard about Neuralink, we were intrigued albeit with a lot of skepticism. I mean, everything Musk was touching was basically gold from cars to space ships to satellites. We didn't care that the hyper loop seemed kinda loopy and ignored a lot of the other cracks. The weird thing was that as he got richer, he got more nuts. At this point the idea of him implanting anything into my car like self driving seems crazy so to let him implant something my brain seems absolutely nuts.

But somebody may have been in a coma for the last few years or so a because the idea of letting this psycho implant anything into the brain with what we know now seems mindfully ludicrous

Take on the Mona Lisa Protesters soup throw

Nothing is dumber to me than these PETA or vegan activist who glue themselves to a wall or throw soup on a piece of art. I get that sustainable food production is important and you might get my attention with a well written article or link to a debate but when you decide to throw a perfectly good lobster bisque away, you've lost me

Take on Taylor’s conundrum

All the talk for the next two weeks will be if Taylor Swift will be able to get back from her Saturday night show in Japan in time for the Super Bowl in Vegas on Sunday night.. What nobody seems to realize is that with the international date line this isn't just doable, it's unimpressive. I've had many a meetings in Asia on a Saturday and been back in time for something on Sunday. I mean, I'm trashed from the flight but I also don't think Taylor is flying commercial.

Good luck

Take on the border

I've long said that Democrats although relatively humane, are completely wrong in the border. This is a crisis and has been for a few years and although a Big Beautiful Wall isn't the answer, what is happening now is not either. It's time for Democrats to take seriously that Americans are tired of having hundreds of thousands pour through our southern border. I don't think there is a good solution but the hope that it just goes away which is what Biden has been counting on is the worst solution.

Take on m the massive jury verdict against Donald Trump

When the $83.3M verdict was announced last night, it felt like justice might finally be served. Not just for E.Jean Carrol but also for everybody who has been disparaged and intimidated by this man.  Trump turned the trial into yet another circus event giving him more oxygen to air his grievances about unfair trails, democratic judges etc.

But what he'll do now is appeal the verdict which means we will have to go through another one of these things and if on appeal they only  award Carrol $75M for example, he will use the fact it's a lower number  to make another bogus claim on his innocents.

We need him to just go away.

Take on Elon’s newest thing

It's interesting that a guy like Elon Musk is all about free trade..until it affects his personal wealth. The Chinese EV industry is coming hard after Tesla and Elon suggested that we need to enact trade barriers in order to keep them from encroaching upon his brand. We aren't sure what the right decision is but a company who has gotten more help from the government in terms of tax incentives and tax rebates for their customers and now asking the government to put up barriers all the while he claims to be a total independent success story.

Take on the astronaut

I'm on a cross-country flight and the guy sitting next to me is carrying a full on spacesuit. I get wanting to make sure you stuff is protected but I'm not sure why coming on a plane looking like a cartoon character is a good idea. Unless of course you are going to have a few loose bolts.

Take on the coach cross country flight

Flying cross country in row 37 when you are 6 foot 1 and 200 pounds has to be one of the least comfortable things you can do. It's not just that my front neighbors seat back is. In my lap but on these full flights there is nowhere to put your bags, so you are basically a human pretzel for 5 hours. The goods news is that it's an Airbus, so at least the panels should stay intact.

Take on Nikki’s last stand

We are less than two hours away from the first voters in New Hampshire telling Nikki that it's over. I'm probably wrong and she's going to be around to fight it out in her home state but then we will hit Super Tuesday and somebody will turn on Sweet Carolina.

I wish there was a viable option but there really is none and we are going to get the old guy versus the decrepit guy.

Take on Ronnie’s last stand

Ronnie didn't stand a shot against Donnie and now he's cowering back to his little statehouse with his ego in a sack. We never liked DeSantis mainly because he's always looked like a total worm. We've seen this guy basically do nothing but come out with a faux bravado claiming to be Trump without the indictments..turns out he's more like Trump without the people to vote for him

Take on the cognitive decline

When Trump confused Hillary and Obama, it was bad. For one, he ran against Hillary for a full year including three bruising debates. He also never faced Obama which is in his favor as he would have destroyed him.
But when he confused Nikki and Nancy, it showed that he has no place at the adults table. It's time to retire this guy, send him off or a golf course somewhere and let him win his own tournaments.

Take on crazy weather

Can somebody explain how we are going to go from 10 degrees to 45 degrees in a matter of a few days? I am not one who hates the cold weather but I am one who doesn't appreciate the inconsistency of the weather predictions.
This is where we are now, you basically wake up in January and you either dress like an Eskimo or you dress like you are going to the beach

Take on the stupid electorate

The fact that 20% of our population would feel comfortable voting for a Trump even if he was a convicted felon makes me so nervous about the future of the republic.  It's not just that the idea of a criminal in the most powerful office in the world makes me nervous, it's the fact that we would knowingly allow for it.
We all know he won't go away if Biden beats him in November and if he somehow wins, he may never leave office.  And somehow we have decided that is ok.

Take on the syphilis hands

Trump showed up with weird blistered all over his hands. We don't know what the cause of these lesions are but we can't rule our syphilis. The thing is that has this been Biden, the national media would have spent a week trying to cover the story from every angle from the cause, the effect, the meaning, the illness, the mortality rate of it but with Trump we just let it go.

Take on GDP growth

When I saw that officially China was showing 5.2% GDP growth, I thought firstly that the world may be righting the ship but the more you know about China, the more that number means nothing. The economy in China is really not good right now considering that the housing market crash is coming with virtually every middle class Chinese person having their retirement money tied up in ghost cities. This is going to get worse before it gets better and you'll see it in consumer spending.

Take on the caucus

There really is no less interatinf story than the year of interviews with undecided voters in some diner in Iowa we've had to endure. What we learn is that very news outlet feels that they need to have their people on the ground to those lame sound bites. I'm just happy this Iowa caucus is done and we don't have to think about this state politically for four more years, because their outsized influence on elections is asinine

Take on the last days of Ronnie

After Tuesday, Ronny will be fine. He has to know the writing is on the wall and with a bad shaping in his adopted state of Iowa, he will likely drop out. Maybe he sticks it out for a few weeks but really, Tuesday will tell a lot

So let's remember the best moments of his campaign. The cowboy boots with heels, the wife who dresses like a Disney princess, the lameness of his entire life.

Sorry Ron

Take on the latest poll

I don’t get the point of the primaries when it’s so obvious that Trump is winning.   Why have DeSantis and Haley and Crispy Chris waste their time when everybody know that a Trump will not just win but dominate.    In three weeks when we are past South Carolina, it will seem like an eternity ago and nobody will remember what Ronnie’s stance on ethanol is.

Take on the $3000 lunch bag

If there is something I will never understand, it's luxury brands. I'm all for higher quality materials but paying for a brand seems beyond stupid. Louis Vuitton revolted their sand which bag today for a whopping $3000 which is the kind of lavishness that screams douchbaggary.
Please get a life

Take on the possible fine

Trump is looking at a possible $370,000,000 fine and the AG today decided to use PowerPoint to tell us exactly how they go to their number. This is some great use of a Microsoft product to show much he basically defrauded the American people in just these few transactions.

Take on Chris Christie double Dunkin dropout

Chris Christie dropped out of the GOP race which nobody thought he had any chance of winning anyway. What I never understood is that these candidates spend a year or more vying for the position and just days before the voters go to the polls or the caucuses, they drop out. I get that there isn't a chance of winning and maybe their ego won't allow them to actually lose but why not ride it out till after New Hampshire which only a week away?? Your entire campaign was about outperforming expectations there, why not believe in yourself enough to see if that plays out.

Take on Meta’s big announcement

Meta announced it would hide posts about suicide and eating disorders from the feeds of teenagers in what I can only describe my reaction as "what the hell!"
The fact that it takes congressional hearings and threats of class action lawsuits for these companies to do the right thing is not shocking but speaks to the misery that unfettered capitalism can bring. Like we are suppose to believe that nobody within the second richest company the world say "maybe we shouldn't show 14 year olds ways to commit suicide and instead show them more photos of cats.

Honestly screw the entire hellhole of social media

Take on the police investigating whether Lauren Boebert punched her husband

Lauren Boebert is having a hell of a time lately.
She was caught giving some dude a handy at Beetlejuice, she lost her three toe'd toad BFF, the price of vapes have gone up, she has to flee her district as a congressional loss is imminent and now she's being accused of punching her ex husband in the face.
What was most telling those was Jayson Boebert's quote

"I don't want nothing to happen," he told the newspaper. "Her and I were working through a difficult conversation."

These two should really reconcile

Take on Austin

At this point I think we all assume Lloyd Austin has gone Weekend at Bernie's. When you hold probably the third most important position in government, it's never going to be OK for you to forget to tell your -very few- superiors that you may be out a few days. The fact that Biden had no idea is insane even if when i originally read that headline I assume Biden had just said a senior moment

Take on the hole in the airplane

I've never had much of a fear of flying but the idea of a chick of the fuselage ripping off mid flight is a bit much for me to take. I'd expect a malfunction with the landing gear, I've had a blown tire and even had our plane with by lightning but the idea of a hole ripping open is nuts. Something tells me this wasn't some random occurrence

Take on the electric stove

I hate Trump with the fury of a 1000 horny goats but there is one thing he's totally right about. The gas stove is so far superior to the electric one, it's silly that it's even considered a debate. Nothing about the electric stove works the way it should. The coils aren't consistent; the red part turns on and off and the entire thing makes every meal taste like old oatmeal.
So unless Biden can step up, my vote might be up for sale.

Take on the school shooting

One of the things that bother me so much out school shootings outside of all the obvious things is that they have become so routine, they don't stop the news cycle. Years ago, when Columbine happened, it got wall to wall coverage but today in Perry, we got a few minutes and then back to Trump and DeSantis and Hunter.

We gotta get back to realizing that school shootings shouldn't feel like another blip but instead should stand for the horror that it is.

Take on the Jeffrey Epstein court documents

The first bombshells of the Epstein documents were not bombshells at all. Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton both appeared but both had been wildly rumored to be on the list. The question remains whether a certain orange crook will make the infamous list. I'm not certain he'll appear as he seems to have always been careful in covering his tracks BUT I have no doubt he was a willful participant. For me, I hope they throw the whole bunch of them behind bars..Clinton, Andrew, Donald whoever. Nobody gets a pass

Tuesday, January 2, 2024

Take on Bob Menendez

How Bob Menendez has not been ousted from his job is beyond me. No politician from either party is more corrupt than this dude who has spent his entire political career embroiled in controversy. With a Democrat sitting in the governor's chair, this seems like an easy decision but somehow has got to have the guts to shove his ass out the door

Take on the stabbing

I know nothing about the opposition leader in South Korea but the fact the man got stabbed in broad daylight is crazy. I hear about this stuff in Russia and think to myself that this is probably par for the course. The Chinese don't even allow for opposition parties and god knows that happens in Venezuela but South Korea is supposed to be a western style democrat, so this just seems RFK level crazy.
