Take on the QR code menu

During the height of the pandemic, the QR code menu went from a quickly thing some small cafes had to a near necessity for all restaurants. The contactless option felt safer and meant less communal passage, or so the adage seemed to be. Although I haven't gotten back to too many restaurants, the few I've gone to have all gone to the QR code menu model permanently and I'm quite frankly done with them. You sit at dinner with four friends and they all take their phones out to see what appetizers they have. Now one is distracted by a text from the babysitter, another sees a scroll about some celebrity death, a third is on Facebook and there I am, basically sitting alone. I am fully aware of my own ADD and realize that if pick up my phone during dinner, it's likely I'll go down a rabbit hole of YouTube, Twitter and Wordle and by the time I'm out, I'll be choosing desert.
I have to be honest, it's time to give up on this and move back to good old fashion physical menus, germs, e-Coli and all.

Take on the Russian castration

Putin and his minions have decided to cast rate captured Ukrainian soldiers which shows you everything these guys are made of. I hated the Russians before this entire thing and they have only made my hatred for them grow exponentially. I can only hope that at some point they capture Putin and use a jigsaw to cut off his sack

Take on the Chubby Bubby

Donald Trump is physically morphing into a complete muscle less sack of potatoes before our eyes. Without the makeup crew, tanning beds and belly band, his entire physique is continuing to deteriorate right before our eyes. He's gotten fatter, and uglier before our eyes and now waffles like an old aunt with a bad hip

Take on Saudi Trump

Trump who is hosting the LIV tour at his awful New Jersey golf course was asked today about the criticism the players and the venues have taken for taking money from the Saudi's. Of course Trump decided to double down on his involvement by suggesting that we haven't gotten down the bottom of 9/11 yet. A bit odd for a guy who sat in the West Wing for four years to say but we all know the Trumps love themselves so Saudi money and are about as morally corrupt as they come

Take on the Amazon impromptu distribution hubs

How the hell do these Amazon trucks get the right to basically block off an entire city block to unload their crap? I've noticed these guys getting more brazen as they basically have set up distribution centers right on the streets of midtown Manhattan. The idea is they pull up on the side, set up a bunch of barricades and then unload a thousand boxes which they stack all over the street and then have dozens of delivery guys using it as a distribution hub
I'm paying good rent in NYC and plenty of taxes, maybe time for Jeff Bezos to pony up

Take on the hypocrisy

Glenn Thompson is apparently a GOP lawmaker out of Pennsylvania who has our ire today. This jackass decided to vote against the Respect for Marriage Act days before attending his son's marriage to another man. This is the kind of hypocrisy which has taken over the entire party which is so beholden to the religious right, it doesn't even recognize itself anymore. We know this is the kind of issue that can galvanize its base but we really don't have any interest in discussing it as it deserves no oxygen.

I hope this jackass didn't get any wedding cake.

The on the decked out bishop

Saw a story of a Brooklyn bishop who was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend where the assailants took more than a million dollars worth of jewelry. I don't like anybody getting robbed and a man of the cloth serving his parishioners would seem like an unlikely target but what the heck is this dude going with a million dollars worth of jewelry. This is why organized religion always stings me, it's not likely this dude won the lottery or came into this independently wealthy. He admits himself that he works hard for his money. This is money coming from his congregation when they pass around the donation plate and is exactly what Trump does.

Take on Matt Gaetz

Matt Gaetz had been very quiet (for him) the last few months as it seemed the screws were tightening around him but he's gone full tilt the last. I think of so. His new thing is to basically say women who fight for abortion rights are all ugly implying they have little to worry about and somehow half the country has decided that this is a totally reasonable discourse What I think it just means is that he knows he's fully screwed and wants to go out in a blaze of glory.
Gaetz holdings office is a gigantic red flag because it shows how crazy we are willing to go.

Take on Ivana

The first real for Ivana Trump should have been somber for the people that cared about her but as all things Trump, it sounded lame and tacky. Whether it's the gold hued coffin or the fact they buried her at a golf course make you realize how lame this entire family is. Who knows if she had a inkling of soul but anybody willing to marry Trump has to be totally insane.

Take on the outtakes

The Trump outtakes of his January 7th speech aired and they showed a man incapable of admitting that he's steered the country into a giant ditch, filled with alligators, vermin, radioactive goo and Rush records.

To call them bloopers wouldn't be fair because that would imply they were at some point funny which they aren't. It does remind you though of the service Mark Burnett didn't do for our country as you know what was left on the chopping room floor on The Apprentice was a trove of racist and sexist commentary which for any other person would have sunk their candidacy.

Although sadly, I'd have to think for Trump it may have bolstered his.

Take on Hawley Gump

Josh Hawley certainly had a busy day on January 6th. He walked into the Capitol with a raised fist and left it like he had a bad case of diarrhea. Josh was running through the building like his pants were on fire which they figuratively were. But I'm still predicting that although we all know these GOPers were all in on this, they will all walk as we will not want to drag our country through this. Which is bullshit.

Take on the John Gotti of presidents

One single text exchange. Twenty Four people during the exact time there was an attempt destabilized our country and overturn a fair election and the secret service can come up with one text exchange? It's been often said that Trump knows how to keep loyalists around him and nothing seems more true than this. These are examples of a complete derelict of duty in protecting the worst offender in our history

The entire four year reign was Nixonian except these guys knew how to do it better. Trump has made a "career" out of not getting caught because like his hero John Gotti, he's mastered the ability to never have anything from him in writing which is why he doesn't use email or text. And I'm sure he made damn sure that his subordinates didn't have anything incriminating in writing either

Take on Bill De Blasio

Somebody should have told him earlier, somebody should have put him out of his misery and broken e news to him because there was nothing more obvious than that New Yorkers had zero interest in having Bill de Blasio serve ever again. His entire tenure as NYC mayor peaked in like the first month with universal PreK and then basically skied his way down to the bottom in a heartbeat.

The last few weeks he's been posting photos of him trying to connect to New Yorkers and in every video he may as well have been a homeless person as there is nobody who wants to get within ten feet of him.

Take on the ultimate white blob

Elon Musk was vacationing in Mykonos and so badly wanted privacy that he decided to force all the tourists on the island to burn out their retinas. I have never seen a whiter, paler, lumpier body than that of Musk who looks like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. He immediately posted that he was already back at the factory when these leaked where he will undoubtedly go through some additional vitamin s withdrawals.

Take on the lame story

I'm so sick of the 24 hour news cycle which must fill its airways and webpages with so much lame drivel and analysis it makes my stomach hurt. This week's major story has been the fist bump which is about as much a non story as I've ever seen and could care about. I am not happy with Biden going to see MBS and I'm sick and tired of us as a country placating to the Saudi's whose human rights history, women's right's history, gay rights history have all been an abomination. I also get that not every meeting the leader of the free world has to have is going to be an easy one and you can't only meet with your friends and allies.

Anyway, can we focus on what was said, what wasn't said and what will happen instead of whether they fist bumped, man hugged or fondled each each other.

Saturday, July 16, 2022

Take on Fat Joe

Another weekend, another Fuck Joe Manchin moment. Whether it's his confirmation for pro life justices, whether it's his deep red routes or whether it's the fact he's a climate denialist, there is no way any Democrat is happy. I've heard many saying they wish he flipped parties as he's just a Dino. The issue is that had been flipped, the GQP would hold
The senate and we'd have Ted Cruz heading the finance committee or whatever

Friday, July 15, 2022

Take on Ivana

The more photos I see of Ivana Trump I. Her later years, the more she looks like Donald. Her face had gotten loaded, her complexion muted, he's skin tone orange and her eyes looked more beady. She also looked like she, like her ex, had a bad weave

I have nothing against her other than her marrying one of the world's four most awful humans and birthing the other other three

Thursday, July 14, 2022

Take on Errol Musk

I've come to absolutely despise Elon Musk despite the fact he makes a great electric car. But his erratic behavior, his irrational tweets, his rants and his love of Trump have really had most of us lose major respect for him. The fact he's got an Antonio Cromartie size crew is also troubling but nothing is as troubling as Old Man Musk, or Musky Old Man as he's commonly referred as. His dad has knocked up his own step daughter twice already. What kinds of Woody Allen weirdo is this guy??

Wednesday, July 13, 2022

Take on Gym Jordan

If there is one thing we have learned about Gym Jordan is that when it comes to rape, he's happy to look the other way. Victim blame is his go-to move, often spending more time defending the indefensible than caring for the victim. But this is who he is and this is who the people of northern Ohio continue to send to Washington.

This piece of garbage retweeted an unfounded assertion that there was no rapist for the 10 year old who recalled to Indians of all places to get an abortion after being raped

What Gym continues to ignore is that a ten year old cannot consent. But that would mean he actually cares

Take on the self checkout

CNN went into one of their deep dives and did an exposé on self checkouts. Their months of research concluded that nobody likes them which is interesting because, well, people do in fact like them. They are quicker, more convenient and more efficient meaning I am spending more time listing to sports talk and less time glancing at US Weekly which is about as positive as it gets

Monday, July 11, 2022

Take on Herschel’s CTE

What the GOP has done by putting Herschel Walker in a position to her to discuss policy is near criminal. Hearing the man speak, it's pretty obvious he's dealing with CTE and instead of getting him help, his hangers-on are trying to use him and his name to steal a senate seat to enrich themselves.

Please let the man run a car wash or become a sideline reporter and put us all out of our misery.

Take on the ugly T-shirt contest winners

At the Trump rally in Alaska yesterday, he pulled two people on stage for the sheer purpose of admiring their Trump themed sheets. It's not that this is surprising but it feels like the kind of thing that only happens to Trump and definitely has a golden calf feel to it. I just wanted to comment on the guy's haircut which looked like it was done in the back of a van. I can't figure out what is the worst feature of the typical Trump voter. The gigantic gut, the awful clothing, the hockey haircut or the reprehensible attitude towards society

Saturday, July 9, 2022

Take on BA.4 and BA.5

Another month, another variant. I've been all in on covid prevention including being the only person still regularly masking but even I am sick of this 24-7 high alert status. They told us the initial version was so contagious you could get it by walking past somebody in the street. Then we got delta and that was twice as contagious then we got beta and theta and Omicron and those were four times as contagious as delta. And now we get BA.4 which I assumed was a vitamin but is now the newest version that's ten times more contagious that omicron.
Basically at this point we will all get it by purely making eye contact or honestly they are all full of it.

TAme on gun violence.

When you kid tries to commit suicide and threatens to kill his entire family, maybe it's best for everyone if you don't sign him up to get a semi automatic weapon. But that is asking too much from a parent who to this day doesn't regret aiding his son in the purchase the weapon used to terrorize a community of the 4th of July.

The one thing we keep hearing so that you we don't have a fun problem but that we have Is a mental health crisis. I'm fine with addressing it that way…and here is step 1. Mandatory physiological evaluations for all gun owners. Must be done once per year. Let's start there. It seems like common ground.

Take on Elon

Elon Musk is at it again, this time he's decided to take the deserved crap he's been taken over his right wing obsession by having it revealed that he had twins with an executive at one of his companies while his girlfriend was delivering his 7th kid. He's been trolling his detractors by tweeting how he's doing his part to keep population growth going but it shows once again what a self absorbed loser this guy is. I get his self adoration which isn't unexpected when everyone kisses your ass constantly but just the thought of this guy getting more press is sickening

Wednesday, July 6, 2022

Take on Lindsey

Lindsey is pissed. Basically his gig may soon be up as he has prove again to be nothing more than a Trump ass kidding jackass. He was subpoenaed for his role in trying to overturn the election by pressuring his neighboring state. He now claims that because rot happened in Georgia, there should be no federal oversight which is…interesting. Lindsey knows exactly that what he claims true and dear has been washed way by his last few years of complete TrumpLove. And the best thing is that you know Trump wont even return his phone call in a week.

Tuesday, July 5, 2022

Take on Nikki

Nikki Haley has always come across as just a bit off. It seems like she should be likable but every time you get a little more Nikki, you like her a little bit less. She's never been that bright but her latest social media post where she decided to add up all the inflation numbers she's found online and basically is calling a 67% inflation number. Sadly, that isn't how math works but maybe that would be a big ask for somebody as dumb as Nikki. Please let me know when we can be forever done with her

Take on another shooting

Another otherwise nondescript day, in a quiet nondescript town, at a nondescript parade celebrating the 4th ended in chaos and when yet another gunman took aim at our innocents this time perched high on a rooftop. I'm sure we will get the prerequisite thoughts and prayers from the GOP as they blame an unsecured ladder or a unlocked door or anything other than the one piece of apparatus that made this all possible.

The Washington Post had a blaring headline "shooting disrupts Chicago suburb's Fourth of July parade with gunman still at large, police say"

Disrupts? This is how one of our most important newspapers describes it? A disruption at a parade may be the tuba player passing out, maybe a fire hydrant that can't be turned off, maybe even a strung out addict screaming bloody hell in the middle or it. A disruption is not six dead, two dozen injured and a country once again in mourning.

When do we day "enough is enough"? When do we say No. when do we decide that we aren't OK with living like this?

Take on the GOAT

We are 14 hours or so away from watching the only true GOAT dominate his sport again. We've seen Joey Chestnut take on all comers and tomorrow would normally not be any different except the greatest of all time will have to do so handicapped. Chestnut is on crutches which doesn't seem like an obvious liability in competitive eating but I think you are forgetting about the Chestnut sway where he sort of makes love to the table as he forces dogs down this throat. May drop his odds although I expect him to still dominate

Take on the next run

We all know that Trump will launch another Presidential run as it's become very obvious that it's the only way for him to stay relative. He realizes that if he can't communicate to his die hard
fans on a regular basis, that he feels empty. But the real reason is because he knows Merick will have a hard time charging us with anything while in an active campaign. Which is exactly the point

Friday, July 1, 2022

Take on the Knicks

If you step back and realize that for Dolan it isn't about winning but about a business, it makes sense. The Knicks are basically NBA irrelevant eight out of every ten years. In those eight years they don't make the playoffs and aren't competitive most of the season. But what does happen is that the garden is packed because Knick fans are diehard loyal. They don't care if they win, they come out and support all the time. They don't need much, they need just an inkling of success.

But what happens with the Knicks is that every five years they have a baby run and that baby run sustains the fan base. They become the talk of the town, they make a splash with Allan Houston or Brunson or whatever and fans buy tickets. But what's more important is they sell their TV rights to SportsChannel and make more.

Does Dolan want to sell a few more pullovers? Sure. Does Dolan want to blow the entire thing up and see his money tree dry up? No way. He knows how this works. Stay relevant every once in a while. Win the backpages in the summer months. When LeBron or Ja or Giannis comes to town you have a buzz, mostly because we are a big event town and we like to see Billy Joel and Bruce and Jordan and Curry and whatever.

But will the Knicks ever build a sustainable product that wins year after year ? No way. It would involve scouting and smart management decisions and Dolan to step back.

But as long as the Knicks are in NY they will be worth billions. It's like owning real estate on 88th and park. It doesn't matter how nice the apartment is, it's located in NYC so you can borrow against it forever and keep leveraging.

It's like the Cowboys. They haven't won since Jay Novacek. But it doesn't matter…they are one of the most valuable franchises in the world.
