The indefensible defense

The president is finally making the connection that we could be looking at 100,000 dead Americans and the first thing his lackeys did was defend himself he was too distracted by the impeachment trial to pay attention to Covid. I'm not sure where the justification is in that defense because it is a red glaring indictment in his ability to be a competent president

Basically what Mitch said was that POTUS can only handle one issue at once and was so consumed with the impeachment that he neglected the rest of his duties

Great job Mitch

Take on the My Pillow Guy

Trump and The My Pillow Guy snuggled in the Rose Garden because of course during a national pandemic who doesn't want to hear from that guy who screams at you on late night TV and looks like a guy whose been accused of stalking multiple women.

Instead of using the time to get leading experts to discuss the situation, Trump gave his buddy and political donor a forum to sell his stupid pillows to millions of Americans. He did offer ago make a bunch of face masks which is nice if you don't mind them smelling like coffee and cigarettes

Take on Judge Jeanine

The Judge showed up last night and was more than a bit toasty. We get that being stuck in your house during a coronavirus is sucky and we should all be allowed to indulge just a bit but it seems the Judge took down some of that aquarium cleaning stuff that Trump was pushing. Tumors have been around for years that she's a sloppy drunk and it was Saturday night but you'd think that when Americans want justice they don't want to see justice puking without having her hair pulled back

Anyway, she must have woken up with one nasty hangover which meant she wasn't very nice to Mr Jeanine this morning. Although if he was lucky she surprised him with a couple of warm Dutch ovens because when you are married to that woman that might be the best thing you'll get all day.

Stake in Pyongyang DC

When did we become North Korea??

Every single presidential televised event now begins with old white men lavishly felating the president on-air. It's sickening to watch how they grovel for his attention and how normal that has become. Trump doesn't even react anymore, it's as if it's just part of the pomp and circumstance.

Trump has made it clear that unless governors treat him the same way, their states will not be getting what they need. He's using the power of the bully pulpit not to mobilize a movement of safety but instead to make sure he's getting pats on the back along the way. The sad thing is that, at this point. It's all these governors can do and it will all but ensure Trump's re-election. Every sound bite that a blue state governor gives praising Trump will be used by the Trump campaign to show his bipartisanship

Never did I think that this crisis and the way he handled it give him a boost but not I'm convinced he's going to win handily. Every decision almost feels political.

I hope it's the NyQuil talking.

Take on Boris

Boris Johnson has now been a confirmed case leaving us all to wonder when Trump will get it. I wouldn't be shocked if he already has it, it's almost impossible considering the amount of people he's surrounded with but so far he's been spared

What he hasn't been spared of are the 100,000+ cases on his watch, which is a bit different than the "miracle" he predicted which would have made them all just magically disappear one day.

Of course this is all for naught at this point. He's told Pence to only reach out to governors who are nice to him which basically means they won't take this seriously until this thing strikes in a bunch of red states.

Take on #1

It didn't take long but the US is number 1. Sddlybit isn't for Olympic glory or life expectancy but something much darker

We are the number one case of Coronavirus even after our Dear Leader predicted in late January that we would be down to 0 with a little miracle. That miracle now is apparently been moved to Easter when Trump is hoping for full pews.

Anyway, Trump seems to have gotten this one wrong. Hard to judge him a 10.

Take on the ultimate sacrifice

The videos of spring break last weekend were disappointingnot because I miss those times but because notion is that the generation who survived as 20 year olds on Omaha Beach will die because of a bunch of 20 year olds at Daytona Beach were shotgunning beers off of a coed's ass. Think of this, 70 years ago asked out grandparents to fight Nazi's to save humanity and they did that valiantly. This generation's 18-22 year olds were asked to stream Hulu and play video games to save humanity and they can't even get that part right

This is the world we live in, half the country is bunkered down and the other half is knee deep in cans of CoorsLite. The saddest thing is that those college kids likely went back to towns in Kansas, Indiana and Wisconsin which might have otherwise been a bit isolated but now get a nice import of coronavirus.

Take on the next stage for Bernie.

Bernie is signaling that he's planning on staying in the race even after getting beat handily by Biden in virtually every contest since California. Biden hasn't been great lately, he doesn't do well in these setting where he's asked to no look like a gaffe machine but considering that we are at the stage where neither can campaign any longer, we would wish Bernie would step aside. He has certainly done his job in bringing the agenda to the left but it's not time for Biden to take this thing home

The problem is that Biden might just implode between now and then so it's imperative he have an incredible V.P. choice who can clean up the mess he'll leave in aisle 5

Take on Dr Fauci

All of a sudden it seems Dr. Fauci has disappeared from the lector as his invite to Trump's nightly self praise party was apparently rescinded . He has publicly disagreed with the president and in a damning interview this week showed how difficult his task is at this point.

Trump, when asked what Dr. Fauci'a position about opening back up again was, said he didn't not agree which I guess means he did...or maybe he doesn't because we all know Trump's knowledge of words is pretty limited

Anyway, we hope it's not the last we see of Dr. Fauci as we need knowledgeable people at the helm right now.

Keep up the good work

Take on the worst generation

Our grandparents were the greatest generation when they served their country during World War II as a bunch of 18-28 year olds. This generation's 18-28 year olds took the opportunity during the worst pandemic our country has seen to participate in some social closing when they spent the weekend frolicking in the Florida sun in bikinis and surfer shorts. All we asked was for them to sit on the couch and play video games but they couldn't even do that.

And as expected a bunch of these morons went back to their universities with a virus worse than the typical thing they'd come back with. It was reported today that five Spring Breakers did just that with positive tests

The thing that really kills me is that some of these kids will go back to their small towns, ones that might have been spared otherwise and bring this sickness into some rural community where their hospitals are even less prepared than the big city ones are.

Saturday, March 21, 2020

Take on Dr Trump

Trump went out touting a couple of malaria drugs as the magic pills to get this Coronavirus under control and every major doctor immediately jumped in to warn that this has not been clinically proven and that the combination of the two could have many side effects including death
But this is Trump, he always looks for the easy way out. He wants others to blame (China, the Deep State, Obama) or finds random distractions (Hillary, emails, Flynn) whenever he feels the heat
All the fun he had as president is gone...he's now at the point that I'm sure he'd love to quit.

We agree, just get out and live the rest of your days siting on a golden toilet waiting for the combination of incontinence and volcanic diarrhea to come from snorting the mounds of adderall

Friday, March 20, 2020

Take on another Trump truth

A report out of the Washington Post showed just how much the administration downplayed the Coronavirus as it feared it would bring down American optimism. Although it reeks of pure evil, it's also shortsighted as there was no way our country would stay immune to it until the elections. This is what happens when instead of putting a competent leader in the White House, you staff it with a former reality star whose own self interest trumps all else

People have said this was going to be Trump's
Katrina moment..it will not be. It will be his Neville
Chamberlain moment

Take on the Amazon Drone thing

Although I thought it was sort of a weird Jetsons type idea initially, today I thought to myself that why we need right now is a fully functioning Amazon drone delivery service. They apparently already have almost entirely robotic warehouse, this would be the next thing and would take the human interaction out of it and still ensure I can get a tube of $4.99 Crest delivered with fee shipping without fear of me or the gig-worker contacting this terrible disease. Although I guess it would mean the gig worker is out of a job.

Anyway, we need this temporarily
Jeff Bezos get on this!!!

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Take on the Lou Dobbs poll

Lou Dobbs gave his sycophant followers a poll asking to grade Trump's "Leadership" during this crisis. His three choices
Superb
Great
Very Good

This is some Kim Jung Un type poll if I've ever seen one which basically means Dobbs watchers all have terrible haircuts

Or maybe it's more like the stupid coffee size thing at Starbucks with a grande meaning a small

I'm voting Very Good just for that

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Take on the Tuesday primaries

I'm not sure there was any good -or safe - way to have the primaries today but two major states did and Joe Biden came out on top in both. Maybe it's the fear of the coronavirus, maybe the democracy's are finally just coalescing around the candidate that can win or maybe it's that Bernie kind of sucks. But it's now abundantly clear that Biden will be the nominee and it's up to Bernie to step out of the way and get this thing started.
All eyes should be on Donald J Duck and it's time to put the force of the Democratic Party, the bigwigs, the regular Joe's and the rest of us to work and take down the Don.
Thanks for your service Bernie, it was fun but it's time to get to the main event.

Monday, March 16, 2020

Take on the “Chinese Virus”

It was just a matter of time but our president decided that today was the day he would dig deep into his xenophobia and pin the coronavirus on the entire Chinese country. We will hear that people referred to the Spanish Influenza and that Ebola was a reference to the River in Africa but the difference is that those were probably called that from the beginning, this one has been known as Coronavirus or Covid-19 or maybe the Wuhan cough but Trump decided to double down and went all in

He sucks

Sunday, March 15, 2020

Take on Joe Biden’s VP pick

Biden committed to picking a woman as his VP and everybody went nuts. Well as nuts as anybody gets over a couple of retirees arguing over a shuffleboard tournament.
I'm all in for Biden's pick and have been saying for months that Kamala would be an excellent pick. Abrams would too and so would Amy but it begs one question. When Biden chooses one, everybody will now say that they were only the best woman he could have picked when in fact they would have likely been the best candidate period.
I'm all in either way, thus country needs less Mike Pence and more of anything else.

Saturday, March 14, 2020

Take on Trump’s test

Trump's doctor came out to state that Trump had tested negative for the Covid-19 which had it come from any other President would have sounded believable but with these guys..who the hell knows

I can't believe we have come to a place where we can't even trust the president to be honest about contracting this thing as he laughs off the idea of even reporting to the press if he had a fever. I think that the chances of him having finished #1 in his college class are about the same as him having taken this test.

I have to think he wishes the impeachment trial had gone a different way right about now and this was all Mikey Pence's problem

Friday, March 13, 2020

Take on Trump’s final stand

Trump is in infinite wisdom made another booboo when he said google was building this gigantic national database website when in fact they have some engineers volunteering to build a preliminary site just for the Bay Area

It's a great project I'm sure but it's not what the president claimed it would be and it made him look like a good once again

Trump may quit before June.

Thursday, March 12, 2020

Take on the Trump dump

Donald Trump purposely downplayed the severity of the coronavirus figuring that admitting the scale would destroy his re-election chances. Nobody to this day has any idea about how far reaching this is but we are sure that it's infinitely worse than the hundreds of confirmed cases we have now.
Just two weeks ago Trump called the entire thing a democratic hoax and compared it to the Mueller investigation, squandering valuable time downplaying a threat that was already on our shores
We have lost faith in our government to give us truth and the fallout is going to be deadly and the blood will be stained on the orange man's hands

Glad this was the guy we wanted answering the phone at 4am...although at least you knew he'd be up

Take on the move Trump should have made

Just imagine the following scenario

A few weeks ago when the Coronavirus first hit our shores. president Trump when deciding on a CoronaCzar called not on Vice President Pence but instead dialed an old friend.
I'm not talking Rick Perry or Jeff Sessions but had he called Barack Obama just imagine how it would have played out

Obama would have been the face of this entire thing, spending every single minute assuring and reassuring the country and allowing Trump to focus on the greater governance issues. Nobody would have done better in this situation in terms of poise under pressure.

Hard right Republicans may have been skeptical but if Trump said he had full faith in Obama in this situation and supported him 100% as this crisis is bigger than politics, they may have listened. The left and moderates would have trusted him every step of the way.

It would have been the right move for America, similar to Bush calling on Clinton and Bush 41 to be the public faces for the crisis of the tsunami

But it also would have been the most brilliant political move Trump could have made. It would have shown him to be bipartisan his Obama-Chris Christie moment. He would have shown to be a bigger man and trust the one other person alive who would be able to handle the complexity of this, the person who would have understood the inside of the government and what it could do as a response

It would have cut Biden off at his knees and virtually ensured another 4 years

And Obama would have known he was being used as a puppet but the call would have been public and he could not NOT say yes.

And if the entire thing went to crap, he could blame Obama on the way out the door

The issue would be if it went well, people would praise Obama and Trump would just die.

But Trump is not a smart (or caring) man.

Take on Jill Stein

I have no idea when it happened but somehow I must have pissed off @DrJillStein enough for her to block me on Twitter. I can't remember what I may have said but I doubt I ever tweeted directly at her.

I've made a few passing references to what seems like a consorted attack from the far left in the 2016 election. It was hard to know if she was intimately involved in this hard left flank or if she was being propped up by Russian trolls without her knowledge or consent but her voters certainly didn't help Hillary's case especially in highly contested states and they should carry the burden of Trump as much as anybody

There was also that time when I compared her with Ben Stein and said he campaign was seemed to designed as a pay for play gameshow to syphon off Hillary voters. Unknown money gave her influence made her campaign somewhat relevant and exposed a fault line in Hillary's candidacy one which Trump would used masterfully

Then I theorized that at some point that help and unknown money was coming from the Kremlin brought about with online trolls and vitriol much like her compatriot Tulsi is doing now destroying our democracy all to please her Kremlin handlers.

Actually I guess I do know why she blocked me

Monday, March 9, 2020

Take on Matt Gaetz.

Matt Gaetz was a despicable human way before last week when he wore a gas mask in an attempt to show the world they were overreacting. Chances are Gaetz hadn't read the news because he was either too drunk or too busy kissing Trump's gigantic pimpled ass and you can't hold him responsible for having to be responsible because he's just a lonely congressman whose main function is to stoke fear and stroke dear leader

Now Matt Gaetz is quarantined for 14 days joining Ted Cruz and Mark Meadows all of whole have spent time felating the president in recent days. Of course Trump won't quarantine himself but maybe we can offer to get him an island somewhere in the middle of nowhere, put up 18 holes, drop him, Gaetz, Cruz and Meadows from a helicopter and call it a day.

If we forget to pick them up in 14 days, so be it. They'll be happy and so will we

Sunday, March 8, 2020

Take on the Ted Cruz quarantine.

Ted Cruz is going into two week self quarantine and the entire capital rejoiced. He came into contact with the CPAC attendee who tested positive for the virus and is doing the responsible thing. Of course we have no idea if Cruz has the virus and since there aren't enough tests to go around it will be interesting to see if old Ted can get a test before anybody else.
It's the first time I felt bad for the Coronavirus because imagine you at stuck in a room with Ted Cruz for two weeks..that sounds like absolute hell.

Take on Presidential hot air

Trump went out in Atlanta yesterday and gave an impromptu press conference which as about as batsh!t crazy as it can get.

When asked about the cruise ship off of California  he said he'd prefer to keep the people on the ship so that their numbers wouldn't be included in the countrywide numbers.   Nothing like making sure the pandemic appears smaller than it really is because you are afraid it will not make you look as competent.

He told the gathering that he has some special ability in the medical sciences even without any formal training which should frighten any American because it reminds you of the lack of training in about everything else he has when it comes to running a competent government.

When asked if he was reconsidering some of his campaign rally's as there have been calls to limit mass gatherings he seemed to not understand the connection saying he wouldn't think so because there are so many people who want to go.

He then went to compare the Coronavirus tests to his "perfect" phone call and transcript, so if those tests equate to those Ukrainian calls we might as well start licking every subway pole.

Finally he said that every American who wanted to get tested could get tested which is about as far from reality as you can get since there have been something like 1000 tests done on our nation and if Mekita Rivas is right that means every American gets a million dollars from Bloomberg assuming Brian Williams fact checks it

Oh yeah, he also apparently wet his pants during the presser and somehow he looks fatter than ever in that black coat.

Take on the worst vacation ever

I was walking past the Hudson River last week and saw one of those gigantic cruise liners pulling out. It was probably Carnival but who knows. This thing had the slides, the pool, the karaoke, the five course dining, unlimited drinks and likely nice helping of corona virus. I won't tell people how to spend their money or how they should vacation but you couldn't pay me to spend a week in that Petri dish.
Even when we aren't facing a global pandemic, you hear about some stomach bug affecting a cruise line where the entire cruise is puking over the side and diarrheaing in their rooms and you wonder what kind of masochists would put good money for this experience. But with this thing going on, you are basically putting an "undesirable" stamp in your passport because in five days when you would be docking in Aruba or St Thomas and they deny your little bit access to port..you can I'll wish you were stuck at home during a winter storm and not dancing the night away with your fellow cruise loving swingers

Take on the potus response

Trump indicated in ab interview with Sean Hannity that people could go back to work to deal with the corona symptoms. He came back today stating that was all fake reporting and he never said what we heard him say. Later there was an anonymous source -AKA Mick Mulvaney- within the White House that he was taking about telecommuting
Love how anonymous sources are fake unless they speak glowingly of Dear Leader.

Take on Bloomberg’s last stand.

Bloomberg dropped out today and rumor is he'll keep his campaign staff on until November in a move to support Joe Biden. I still think Bloomberg deserves credit, he put his money where his mouth is and spent $500 million to get Trump out. Granted there is always an ego involved but any enemy of Trump is a friend of mine plus the issues he cares about (gun control, climate change, keeping people from drinking extra large cokes) are issues I agree with.
Although it's far from over and Bernie is far from walking dead but even if Biden ekes it out we are going to be looking at a long spring and I can't say I'm that excited about 8 months of Biden because that dude can't walk 9 feet without stepping in dog crap and Trump will eviscerating him on a debate stage. But Bloomberg's money might be able to keep the pressure on Trump to fight on multiple fronts

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

Take on SuperTuesday

I was expecting a long night for the moderate faction of the Democratic Party. Sure the South Carolina victory gave Biden a nice bounce and the triple endorsements ny Beto, Pete and Amy helped but I wasn't expecting him to take a lot of these southern states as handily as he has.
Now we still have California and Texas to go, so when I wake up tomorrow this entire thing could seem like a long memory as Sanders would have run up the score base on those two states plus Vermont and Colorado.
But one thing is certain, we now have a race and it's time for Bloomberg to step out and start spending that cash on old Joe.

And Warren needs to step out also, she's great but the voters have spoken today and they do not want her.

Monday, March 2, 2020

Take on Amy and Pete

Pete and Amy would make for an interesting pair of bedfellows and tonight will be the first time we see the two of them working with a common goal. In fairness I believe they both got into the race to stop Donald Trump and by dropping out and falling in line behind Joe Biden, they both understand the gravity of the moment.
I'm always interested how former rivals act in situations like this and Amy and Pete certainly had some public spars recently, so we'll see how warm their embrace is tonight. I expect they will be cordial and distant. They must realize their politics aren't far apart, neither are their midwestern routes, so it can't be that hard to -at least - agree on a policy perspective

The most important part now is getting Steyer on board and reeling in Kamala as the VP to complete the ticket. We need a united front for the next eight months and although Joe wasn't my first, second or third choice, he's America's horse and we need to ride that horse across the finish pulling along the senate and house too.

Sunday, March 1, 2020

Take on mayor Pete

Mayor Pete our country before self and dropped out even after strong Iowa and New Hampshire showings. He knew his party to the White House had been reduced to virtual zero and by staying in through Super Tuesday he would continue to split the moderate votes and in turn fracture the party. This is not the time to be cute, this is a time the Democrats must take the White House back...not because I think their policies are better but because we need to move on from Trump.
I'm not overly impressed by Biden and his age scares me which is why TOR is stating firmly that he should immediately pick Kamala Harris as his running mate and take this thing home. A ticket of Biden's experience and Harris' credibility will lock up both the suburban moms and the black vote, both of which they will need to win this election.

Make Pete the Secretary of State, Klobuchar the Secretary of the Interior, Warren Treasury, Obama onto the Supreme Court and Steyer a new position Secretary of the Global Warming
