For the first time in what seems like forever, Covid cases in the US declines. We've been on a nice trajectory with a 40% decrease in cases since January 8th. The oddity of this seems to be that with the winter months and places continuing indoor dining that we've been promised a surge. I'm guessing the combo of vaccinations and the fact that there is some natural immunity from people who have gotten sick is the main thing here. The one thing I'm shocked at though is that for every Super Spreader event we have been warned against and every state that seems to flout any reasonable suggestion, those red states really haven't done any worse than the blue ones.
It seems Florida hasn't been the slaughterhouse we thought and that somehow places like NY and NJ are not all that different than Mississippi and Texas on a per capita basis.
