Take on the retail spending spree

Trump boasted about holiday retail sales being up 3.4% and congratulated America. I was a bit confused as it was unclear if he was congratulating retailers for making money which he convoluted with "America" or if he was congratulating Americans for now owning 3.4% more worthless crap which their aunts and coworkers felt obliged to give them

Either way, I feel like this is actually a time we should be mourning a loss not congratulating a victory because I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these fake Air Pods
