the last time three shots hit this hard it was those Jagermeister shots on Thursday Night

You have to pretty impressed with the Navy SEALS and those three snipers taking out the three guys 150 feet away on a bopping boat. The last time I was on a boat, I think I puked from the second I got on until 30 minutes after I got off, to think you can concentrate a sharp-shoot 3 Somalians is pretty impressive.

Not sure how this will affect the next hostage negotiation but something tells me that the next US Captain caught up in one of these Somalian pirate situation won't be afforded the time the last guy was.. But again we'll see.

I'm sure these guys will claim that the US esculated the violence since these pirates never take the hostages out but then again they did have a gun pointed at his head.

by the way when exactly did pirating go from something that kids did with music to something Somalians did with captains?

I'm afraid of the dark.

not really but I'm definitely afraid of some rogue country pointing a nuke right at my ass even if every time the North Korean's shoot a rocket it seems a lot more like a Righetti after a few too many whiskey's and not a Righetti on a full bottle of passion-fruit Snapple.

In the meantime, is it just me or do you get the feeling the Obama administration sees the Automotive and Banking business in two different ways. I know that we're told that we can't afford to let the banks fail while that isn't exactly the same as the automotive industry which should not fail. There is a very small nuanced difference here but it's pretty important.

Is this because they truly don't think the banking industry can fail or because they just don’t understand it?  The banking industry has been hiring mathematicians to run these complex derivatives while the manufacturing plant has been hiring frat boys to run the show.  It's funny if you speak with people since everybody has some kind of opinion of how GM can get fixed but nobody has any idea how AIG should get fixed.

This is where I think the administration is with this right now, they are getting talked in circles by two groups of people and they have decided that although they will not get embarrassed by the blue-color folk they are afraid of the white-color folk cause they don't really believe they can fix the problem.

The AIG thing is so embarrasing because as Jon Stewart has already said, we are giving the banks money to cover their crappy loans and then we are giving AIG money to insure those same crappy loans.. in other words we are insuring the same crappy loans twice.
Not letting AIG fail has come down to one thing.  Obviously all the insurance they have been offering is nothing more than pie-in-the sky, they weren't insuring anything and the 120 billion they've been given was just a way to Ponzi Scheme the money to the Goldman Sacks folk under the table.

if you think we live in a scary time now, just look at what we use to have to deal with

The above picture has nothing to do with today’s blog but really it was a pretty good find on the innerwebs by an avid TOR reader Zeke the Creep who said
“Yep, that's a disguised Vlad Putin in his carefree KGB days, ready to pop the Gipper if necessary with what is surely a camera gun of some kind.”
Although sadly my first thought was that this was one of those pictures where the guy's got a boner standing behind some little kid, I have a hard time distinguishing a Megan’s Law guy from a KGB agent apparently.

Another off-again, on-again TOR reader Zingrod Zong commented that he ‘loved Rocky IV’.

But since we have politics on the brain, we decided to talk about another item today. The mess that is AIG becomes another Dog-and-Pony show by our wonderful congressmen. This is all posturing and doesn’t ever accomplish anything like when one of these idiots pulled all the heads of the major banks how many of them worked for companies that owned their own private jets.. This is the dumbest question I’ve ever heard because what does it accomplish? That CitiCorp has a private plane..wow next you are going to tell me that water is wet, John McCain is nuts or Chris Dodd is old.

Now I agree that there is no reason that anybody working at one of these divisions of AIG which brought the economy to our knees with the risks they took in all these complex instruments of risk-built derivatives and asset swaps to insure our entire financial system which turned out to be worthless. I don’t believe anybody there should receive a bonus for work they did or a bonus to retain them, I think they should be pulled away in handcuffs. But as usual Barney Frank and Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell and Matthew McConaughey have to get up on stage and do nothing but gesture,

What still gets me about this entire thing is how loosy-goosy they all are with our money but what I thought was interesting was that as this AIG exploded into the public eye the stock shot through the roof (full disclosure the owners of TOR bought 1250 shares at $0.39/share now $1.80/share about 3 weeks later) … if nothing else it proved that things are back to normal with them throwing out big bonuses and having no regard to regulation.

Lets go bowling

So that chick who popped out the 8 kids has been offered to star in a number of Vivid videos for $1 million dollars per year plus health care. Do we really want to promote this kind of sick behavior, even in porn?

I love porn more than just about anybody but there is nothing I’d less want to see than some chick whose vag looks and smells like that baseball glove I left in the rain a couple of years ago and has been more used than one of those automatic bowling bowl retrievers. When I think of porn stars the only bowling analogy I like to think of is 'two in the pink and one in the stink.'

Then again it will probably sell as other freaks have become porn stars including John Bobbitt whose wife cut off his dinky and then he got a penal enlargement which made his dinky look like the alien from Alien, plus all those midgets on Howard Stern have made a decent buck doing it and of course the lovely Tonya Harding had one that seems to sell, so what the hell do I know?

But it did get me thinking, so I've compiled the Righeti list of best Celebrity Porn

1) Pamela and Tommy, just such a classic

2) The Kim Kardashian one, hoya goya!

3) One night in Paris, although the lighting sucks

4) The Pamela and Bret Michaels one, you gotta love that he wore that bandana during the entire thing

5) The one with the chick from Survivor although I have no idea who that was

Then again if MSNBC's Contessa Brewer wanted to star in “Who wants to be a Vag Millionaire” I’d watch.

$160 Million for a fat pitcher????!!!!???/

This has to be the week of make-believe

First Congress throws $14 billion at a failing auto industry then pulls it back, what is up with all this Indian Giving, the only thing that directly affects me is that my 401K will have a roller coaster ride today?

My issue with this bailout isn't so much the $14 Billion as it is that these dudes probably need $140 billion. That is like going Sabathia going to an emergency room after his left arm's been torn off by a lion and the doctor putting a 2" band-aid on it.

What the hell is the point????!!!

I have no idea what the best thing to do with this automotive industry but I know for sure that I think it's anti-capitalism and anti-darwinism to prop up companies that cannot survive on their own.  Now I also know that the amount of jobs that will be lost if GM and Chrystler go under and that the government will have to carry the burden based on the amount paid out as the unemployment ranks swell but in general I don't think this makes any sense.

Why the Yankees decide to throw more money at CC Sabathia than they ever would have for Johan Santana is beyond me.  The Yankees entire plan going into last season is out the window (build from within, don't spend ridiculous money on free-agents).  Look at Sabathia, the dude is 300lbs, I know that David Wells model kind of works but it doesn't work for $160 Million dollars.   $23 Million Per Year does afford you some spending cash for the Righetti Fat Slob Tax.

I promise, no more baseball blogs for a few months.

521.49 miles from Detroit to Washington DC

You gotta love these idiots from GM, Ford and Chrystler driving from Detroit to Washington DC after getting B*tch-slapped by a bunch of old grumpy white haired senators for taking private planes last week to beg for money..

I had to see how far this drive is and maps.yahoo.com says that it's about 525 miles.  You gotta love the thought of each of these idiots spending 9 hours on the road stopping off at McDonalds and pumping their own gas at Mobil's and having to use the piss covered shitters at the rest-stops.

Would have been better if they carpooled down there.   These three idiots all squezed together in one of those small hybrid's would have been great entertainment, especially if they got a flat.

somebody put me in charge of reality-television for NBC

Entourage is incredibly not good

I can't tell whose acting is worse.. Vinny Chase or Adrien Grenier.. I really expect more from Marky Mark, this is worse than going back to the Funky Bunch. The script is terrible, the character develoment is awful, the acting is dreadful and sadly the story-line is worse.

Is there anything less comfortable looking than McCain and Obama meeting today, they promissed to work together, I'm sure that they will happily share a few cups of hot cocoa as they discuss this Detroit mess.. I think McCain might be laughing all the way to the bank as he tells Obama "sucks to be you!"

You gotta love the fact that Mark Cuban is being accused of insider trading, my first thought was if this had to do with trying to get Steve Nash back

Rick Sanchez on CNN looks like he ate Cambell Brown

Forget having to deal with this economic crisis and the Iraq war, I found a new reason why I don't envy Obama's pending job..

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Before he ran for president Barack Obama quit smoking. Now that he's won the job, he may have to break another addiction: Checking his BlackBerry for e-mail. The president's e-mail can be subpoenaed by Congress and courts and may be subject to public records laws, so if a president doesn't want his e-mail public, he shouldn't e-mail, experts said. And there may be security issues about carrying around trackable cell phones.

I've been busy carving a backwards B into my face

When I first read that a McCain campaign worker was accusing a "big black man" of robbing her, beating her and carving a B into her face and noticed the B was backwards I thought of Morton Downey Jr, who years accused neonazi's of painting a swastika on his face.  Of course just like in this McCain campaign case the twisted cross was painted in reverse.  Idiots absolute idiots.

Maybe that chick should have used a knife to cut away half the food she consumes on a daily basis.

in other big news Joe the Plumber sounds like he's considering a 2010 run for congress, this is what we really need a guy who isn't really a plumber now try to be a real congressman.
Everytime I see Ali Velshi, I think that it's just Howie Mandel took a gig doing CNN finance cause those Deal or No Deal briefcases are coming up empty for him

Just the Headlines

200,000 kids Spanked
CNN.com
More than 200,000 children were spanked or paddled in U.S. schools during the past school year, human rights groups reported today. "Corporal punishment discourages learning, fails to deter future misbehavior and at times even provokes it," wrote Alice Farmer, the author of a joint report from Human Rights Watch and American Civil Liberties Union"

This definitely is not the kind of thing that you see in the prissy North East, just looking at the handy map that CNN provided the places where this is happening is almost exclusively south of the Mason Dixon line.
But really if those Southern Girls dress like Britney circa 1998 how can you blame 'em?

Associated Press
TOKYO -- Former New York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a bartender after drinking 20 mugs of beer, a police official said.

Irabu, 39, became angered after his credit card was rejected. He then allegedly pushed the bartender against the wall, pulled his hair and smashed at least nine liquor bottles at a bar in Osaka, western Japan, a police official said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.
The bartender sustained no injuries. Irabu paid the bill with another credit card.
The police official said Irabu admitted the assault.
When you spend $200 million on your payroll you can afford this bunch:
From Brien Taylor busting his hand in a bar fight, to Carl Pavano who was last seen doing 110 on some Florida highway with $40 million in tow, to the Big Unit shoving a camera man, Irabu pulling the hair of a bartender and fellow countrymen Kei Igawa who has a staring role playing the Yankee version of Kellen Clemens
Please shut up

MSNBC reports: "Lopez, who appeared on 'Good Morning America' Aug 18 to discuss her preparations for the Malibu Triathlon, was overheard saying after the segment that she 'couldn't understand why everyone is talking about that swimmer,' according to a GMA source. 'She couldn't come up with (eight-time gold-medal winner Michael) Phelps' name, and then she yammered on about how she was the one training for a triathlon just six months after giving birth, and how that was the big story right now, not 'the swimmer.'"

I have no comment what so ever.
