Take on cryptomerica

Eric Adams made news by saying he would take his first three paychecks using Bitcoin which is only newsworthy if he negotiates the amount of Bitcoin beforehand. I don't see the difference if he gets $15k paycheck or $15k worth of Bitcoin on day one Bessie he could have just taken his paycheck, changed it and bought BitCoin.
This seems to me like saying I'll take it in Euros, in Jose Canseco rookie cards or in wheat pennies or whatever

So unless I'm missing something this isn't news. What will be news is if he will paying NYC and NY tax or NJ taxes
