Every day seems to bring a new contender to the democratic presidential field although the newest "contender" has about as much appeal to the democratic base as a delay on the A train. He has about as much charisma as an underpaid sanitation worker.
Bill De Blasio is lucky to have the job he has, which we admit is one of the most difficult in the country, but if he's going to be in Iowa and South Carolina and New Hampshire that means he won't be in NYC which is the last thing we need. Running for President as a congressman or senator is already a bit shady with the limited time you can spend on your day job but when a governor or other executive runs, it leave an entire state or city without leadership.
Although in de Blasio's case maybe that's a good thing.
