The best thing that the Democrats ever did was put Kamala up against Trump.

Not just because she's the best candidate or would be the best president but because he can't help himself when it comes to disrespecting a smart woman of color. You just know that the more they egg him on, the more he'll take the bait.

The NYTimes has basically become TOR's step sister with their recent article about how terrible Kamala's pant suits are. It twists to be objective without being funny or clever as it goes on to say she hasn't had a chance to change her bland blues, grays and browns since she's been anointed, leaving her with the same wardrobe she had pre-ascension. I'm not a big pant suit guy but honestly don't know what else she could be rocking, though matching them them either the Chuck Taylor's is a good look.

Take on the medal count

Nothing is lamer than trying to move the goalposts by counting medals and making it look like the US is dominating although they trail by a decent margin when it comes to golds. I also don't get why some event like the men's 50 meter butterfly earns one gold while the women's team gymnastics event also earns only one medal while there are five women competing. Plus don't get me started on those ridiculous sports they just sort of invented for this event.

I'm all for this new attack line that Trump and Vance are weirdos. I'm not totally sure how we got here but when one dude is banging his couch and the other dreams of banging his daughter, the weird thing works. We know Trump has always been a kinky quack, with all of his slip and slide Russian adventures and JD is the kind of dude that definitely has a pair of chaps and a rubber duck in his closet.

I've been watching handball during the Olympics and I have to say, i might be a fan. All the dudes are in their late 40's, they are all kind of fat and they look like they chug beers between points instead of Gatorade. I can't totally understand the traveling rule or more accurately their lack of a traveling rule But they look like regular schmo and I'm looking forward to watching it again in four years

As I read the testimony on the attempted assassin of Trump something struck me. There is this throw away line about how he obtained the gun and it's a doozy

I'm sure this "he bought it from his father" is absolute horse shit. His father is saying that so as to give him distance as there have been multiple lawsuits recently which implicated the parents of gunmen who left their AR15s unlocked or readily accessible. I got into a cab at 3:45am for my 6am flight from Newark on Sunday. After my first was delayed, a second one cancelled and my connection missed, I spent hours on the phone with @delta jumping from one ticket to another. They not only couldn't help me but they actually made the situation worse saying they got me on a flight at JFK. Spent an hour racing over there only to be told that the ticket they booked wasn't for my class. I then spent another two hours with countless reps looking at options that were completely unreasonable like taking a flight to Boston to connect to a flight to Minneapolis to end up in Seattle to eventually go to Japan. Delays are part of the world I live in with my travels but basically but basically having my entire trip cancelled has never happened to me before. F You Delta

I said to my dad the other day that although things looked horrible for the democrats at the time (Biden was old, frail, riddled with Covid and the party was turning against him) that elections have a rhythm and what seemed like the most important issue now could very well be forgotten by the time we got to November. No one is going to forget Biden but the fact the entire narrative has now shifted away from Trump and to Harris shows you how quickly we can collectively forget.

Maybe it's our USADD but we do have a short memory and all signs are now pointing straight up, this momentum will carry to the convention and then to the general election.

No one was shocked but it still didn't feel real when Biden announced that he would abruptly end his campaign and not seek reelection. We knew she is was coming, the damn was breaking and we have a nation to save. What we didn't know was what would happened afterwards but it seems like the entire Democratic machine backed Kamala which at first seemed like a coronation but the more I thought about it, the more it felt like a trap. It's almost as if the Dems know they can't win and are going to hand this to Harris so they can kind of be done with her. I may be wrong but I think this could be a bloodbath where she will take the blame and be forced to fall on the sword for the team

Everyone I cross the Delaware water gap I'm shocked as to how quickly fashion is completely disregarded. It's either women with 26 pounds of extra bologna squishing into a size 2 bikini., dudes with more artwork on their body than the 6 train because they have more body to go around or just randos having out in Aaron Judge jerseys. But today I caught some dude in blue pants and mismatched shoes and he looks like he didn't belong anywhere else

When. I saw that 3000 flights were ca called today right on the even of my flight to Japan, i just about lost it. The anxiety of traveling to Asia is something you can't shake even if you've done it 1000 times and the thought of being stranded somewhere is enough to make my anxiety hit an 11. It's crazy but something just feels different about flying there as opposed to Europe or whatever. What I sill say is that for every flight I've taken there is one point where all the anxiety faded away, the second I sit in my seat, have an orange juice and turn on a movie

I'm certainly not going to be the first but Matt Gaetz who was never much of a looker has somehow decided that looking like Joan Rivers is a good look for a dude in his 40's. It may be the humidity, it may be the dead bodies in the swamp or it may just be New Jersey but every time I walk out of my car at the Vince Lombardi Park and Ride, there is this new stench which is wretched. I know that a stench off of the Turnpike isn't news but this is a slightly different stench than usual. I can't totally put my thumb on it but it's a combo of human feces, swamp mud and AXE body spray. Please god, as if this commute wasn't bad enough.

The speculation over Trump's decision for a running mate was all the rage the last few days. Rubio was never a viable option and that dude from North or South Dakota nobody ever heard of. I know the chick with the three toes was interested but she's a loony tune. So JD Vance stepped right up and directly into the pile of dog crap. Vance once likened Trump to Hitler but now licks his boots, so why not him??

When I saw the video of the shooting, the most striking thing to me was that the secret service snipers were looking directly at the shooter with their guns pointed at that direction before shots ever went out. At some point, if there is a fear of an assassination, why didn't Trump get pulled away before there was a chance of bloodshed. Something feels a bit off

There is no place for this first and foremost and although this blog hates Trump with all our being, this is the last thing we needed. Not only is this everything that is wrong with politics, if you take it in a vacuum we this will harden his supporters, may embolden some sicko to do the same to Biden and will be used as a rally cry for many. Jalen Brunson taking a team friendly deal is amazing as a Knick fan but in a sports world where contacts are seen as the ultimate validation, it's an odd choice. I know he's got an out at some point which could yield him more but the fact what you'd take less while OG takes a full salary and Hartenstein walked is kind of insane.

I'm not sure who will eventually be the one who has to have the hard conversation with Biden but right now it sounds like it will have to be Obama. We know the toe aren't as close as they once were and the fact that Obama only ever seems to make a full throated defense of Biden is when he's comfortably in the lead, makes us all a bit nervous. But we are running out of time, we need a decision and we need it quickly.

I am shocked every month when I get my credit card bill how much of those purchases went to Amazon The addiction to free two day shopping is so insane that we sometimes by the and thing twice not realizing that we already ordered it. If we don't make a decision soon, we will have to live with the decision our indecision will award us. We know that Biden isn't capable of doing this job for another 4.5 year so at this point we are only hoping he can carry the baton over the finish line and hand it over to Kamala. Since this is the best case scenario in a perfect world but if we are afraid he can't actually beat Trump to get to that finish line why not short circuit the inevitable and step aside now so that we are assured that Trump doesn't get to appoint two more Supreme Court justices??

TOR is on record to say that it's time for Joe to step aside but when the NYT starts pushing a narrative that isn't actually factual a few days after their editorial board called for him stepping down, I feel like doubling down on Joe. We know he's got his issues but to imply he's suffering from Parkinson's isn't cool. With that said, it's been nearly two weeks and nothing Biden has done has put any question to bed about his ability to run this country for four more years. When The Heritage Foundation posted their Christmas wishlist for another Trump presidency, we were fearful. We have a blueprint of what is to come and for a country which has constantly progressed, this plan brings us backwards. The choice for our country seems to be one of authoritarianism and democracy but that is just to keep crazy lunatic from power, but maybe the bigger fear is that this lunatic will set us up for.

I could even imagine living in a place where it would get to 120 and humid. New York has been miserable the last week with mid 90's temps and horrible humidity. It seems every time you go to do anything, whether it's going out shopping or walking the dog, you are totally soaked. I spent last night in the city and it was as if I was standing inside a pot of Hungarian stew and the smell matched that sensation. For the love of god we need to fix climate change if for no other reason that that I'm very uncomfortable.

We keep getting good job reports which are good but it will keep this inflation high. I always wonder what an incumbent roots for here ass it seems like a double edged sword. I know getting lunch in the city isn't possible under about $13, they just raised the bus fair by about 15% and every time you walk into a store you feel economically violated. At the same time everybody says they can't find anybody to hire, and our economy is stagnant. I can't figure out what we should be doing differently but Biden isn't going to win without someone to explain this economy to us all

We keep getting these lukewarm endorsements for Biden when everybody knows it's time to put the chairs on the table, turn out the rights and lock the door. We love Biden but his legacy will be about what he didn't do instead of what he did unless he steps down for the good of the country…….and does so now. We need a 6 week period to find a new nominee, holding back a decision only hamstrings the party. We need somebody who can be vetted on the national stage and we need to have somebody who can start raising money yesterday. Please, for the love of our country, step away now.

You've served your country valiantly, you've debited your life to public service, you've held the highest job in the land and excelled at it. But for the love of everything you stand for, for all that defines you and for everything that we all know and love..step aside and let Kamala or Pete or Gretchen or Gavin take their shot. The country can't afford another Trump, we can't afford to lose another seat on the Supreme Court, we can't afford the damage on the international stage.
