I'm convinced that when the shelves at Target and Walmart start emptying on the west coast in the next few weeks, we will finally get the uproar these tariffs deserve. There hasn't been a good argument for these tariffs as they seem to be there just to stroke Trump's ego. What he doesn't get is that XI Jingpeng is not going to back down, he's not going to fold. Trump has already shot his load with his 145% tariffs. He's dropped trade but what he doesn't get is that China can wait him out. They shut down cities for a month if there was a single case of Covid while we can't convince somebody who is coughing up a lung to put on a mask on a bus.
In China when they protect, it's in front of a tank.
