Trump got us into this Iran mess and instead of admitting defeat he's doubling fine with his idiotic economic nuclear option. He's now going to try to punish China for trading with Iran which will lead to more economic pain for Americans all for his vanity war project. I don't know how many miserable sailors have to beg for support, how many American troops need to come back in body bags nand how many economic disasters we need this year but I'm quite frankly sick of it And that is not to mention the absolute suffering the people who are directly affected by this are going through, all so our president can stroke his flaccid ego with his tiny hands.

There is no more toxic bottle of liquor than Chinese "white wine". I've been here a dozen times and to this day, I don't understand how -and why- people drink this stuff. It's basically jet fuel in a bottle and they drink it like it's juice. I've had multiple shots of it tonight and the only good thing is that whatever throat pain I've had this week has now been completely disinfected.

The choice of food in China is always a bit odd and the language barrier doesn't help but when I was offered what I believe is penguin yesterday, I wasn't sure what the heck to do. You don't want to insult anybody but the idea of eating an animal with the personality of a penguin is just not exactly appetizing. It could very well have been another bird but at that point it was just too late.

As a runner, China is a tough place to come as the air quality often makes it so you can't walk across the street, let alone go for a run. In fairness, it's better than it was and I usually run on a treadmill. Secondly, since I'm usually only here for a few days, it's manageable but these poor people live like they are in the back of the airplanes in the 1980s

I've travelled around the world on business and I have to honestly say, I've never felt compelled to shower at the airport. There are lounges which offer this but to think I'm going to get butt naked and hit a communal shower sounds like something I can't imagine anybody actually does. Then that thing into a private crapper and it'll be used constantly

Half the time in China you don't know what you are eating. The other half of the time you know damn well and you want to puke thinking about it. I've had bull balls, jelly fish and chicken hearts and can't say I'm a huge fan of any of it. Their steak tastes like chicken, their chicken tastes like fish and their fish tastes like your sock.

I'm shocked at the amount of smoking you still see in China. When the rest of the world has started to recognize the health risks, in China with the pollution, they believe that breathing through a filtered cigarette is actually safer than just breathing in the air.

You just have to love coming off a 14.5 hour flight and then having to navigate the maze at Pudong airport which makes DeGaul feel desirable. The tunnels and trains and hallways and escalators just keep going like you are in an escape room. Then between the people shoving, everybody yelling and fellow passage cutting you in line and invading your space, it's actually a relief when you step outside in the 95F humidity.

Nothing gets you ready for international travel to China quite like needing to board at Terminal 1 at JFK. This is the terminal that has been left behind by everybody. It's dark, it's crowded, it's poorly ventilated and somehow every store is Hermes or Gucci Once you get through the maze at security you are greeted with a full pat down which while you are sweating like a slob watching your laptop just sitting there waiting for somebody to just walk off with it.

I have one Big Mac per year and have to say it's always a bit disappointing. The flavor is fine, the experience is passable but the meat quantity is nonsensical. Over the years they have cut the amount of food down so often that you are basically left with two McDonald's cheeseburgers.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why Trump continues to get the kind of support from military families. He's a draft dodger, his kids haven't served, he insulted war heroes and he keeps sailors out in the ocean on their gigantic tuna can for his stupid war. These things are basically desserts for adults and after having one or six, you feel like absolute dog shit. Trump fled on a food cart while the rest of his staff and dozens of reporters were sent up on Air Force One with imminent danger. I get protecting the president but the idea that they'd send a plane out there when there were credible threats is both malicious and criminal. I'm not saying POTUS doesn't need extra protection but we shouldn't send the rat of his team up in his plane as some decoy.

I ordered Chipotle today and when i was standing there I was shocked again by how little you get for $15. I sort of complained to the kid working the line who said he gives you 4 ounces of chicken which is basically a shot glass with of protein. I I get that this is expensive but they also skimming the ride and the beans. This is what we have become, a complete ripoff as a nation by a nation for a nation.

As much as I am deathly scared of Trump running again, there are times when I see his numbers and wonder how badly he'd lose In an honest election. We know he can't be trusted to run a fair and true one but if in some alternative world this would be possible, he'd lose to the average democracy by double digits. I don't understand the market at all, Trump teases an Iran deal that doesn't happen but he still sees the market jump. It's so obvious that this market is being manipulated and he's so obviously personally benefiting but as long as everybody is making money, I guess nobody care.
