Take on the uproar about the mtg pension

I swear I don't understand why people are up in arms that MTG chose to resign on January 5th, ensuring she get her pension. First of all, it's a relatively small pension, not one that in the grand scheme will mean anything and not one she can collect till she's in her 60's. Secondly, any person could do exactly the same. Think about yourself in any situation where if you left your job today, you get nothing or leave in two months right after your Christmas break and you'd guarantee yourself a pension. Who in their right mind would to leave today??
